| Lake Zürich, from the Observation Tower |
The weekend of April 28th to May 1st was a holiday weekend in Germany, so we decided to take advantage of the time (on Monday the 30th) to visit Zürich.

| The Blue Angel in the Main Train Station |
After the one-hour train ride from Konstanz, we arrived and then headed up to the
Uetliberg, a mountain that overlooks the city of Zürich. Our first stop was a high tower on top of the already high mountain that looked over the the whole city. (You can click on the pictures for a bigger version.)
From
the Uetliberg Train Station, we started along the Planetenweg trail, a
scale-model of the planet system. As you can see, the some of the
models were quite small!

Pluto was just a sign to note its location when it is closest to the sun. Either the real location was somewhere else, or the planet was too small. |

We
had a great time hiking along. The weather was perfect and we enjoyed
our little picnic lunch with amazing views.

When
we reached the end of the trail, we took a cable car down, and then a
train back to the main train station. From there, we explored the
city on foot.
At the end of our journey, we went to a restaurant to try Fondue, but when we got there, we discovered that each person HAD to have an entrée. So, we ordered fondue AND raclette. So Much Cheese.
We left that place feeling a little cheese-drunk, and headed back to the train station to catch our train home.
