Berlin, Day 1

This trip started out very much like all the other trips we have taken....and that was by waking up at 3:30 a.m. to leave the house at 4:30 a.m. to walk for 45 minutes to the train station (because no buses run that early) to catch the train that leaves at 5:30 a.m.

Don't I look tired??
Needless to say, the first leg of the trip was spent sleeping. As was the second leg. As was most of the third leg.

We finally arrived in Berlin at about 4:00 in the afternoon, and we (with the 50 other California students) took several different forms of Berliner public transportation to the hostel. IT was surprisingly nice, and we got our own room with a bathroom. Luxury.

Later that evening, we went to the German Resistance Museum. It was really interesting to see the different individuals who had stood against Hitler in WW2 Germany. A lot of times, it is portrayed that all Germans supported the Nazi rule, but in reality, many people risked and lost their lives to fight against it.

After that, we got a little bit of food, and little bit of drink, and went back to the hostel to fall asleep...because obviously, 12 hours of sleep on the train wasn't enough.
