Berlin, Day 3

We woke up on day 3, and—after breakfast and coffee, of course—went to a Stasi Prison that was used to hold and physically and/or psychologically torture Soviet dissidents. The members of the party were trained in psychological interrogation methods, and they applied their knowledge ruthlessly in order to keep everyone in check.

After the prison, we went to the Neues (New) Museum, where they have a lot of Egyptian art on display. While we were waiting to get in, we took advantage of the scenery. 

Once we were inside, I didn't understand the tour because it was all in German, but we got some cool photos of the Book of the Dead and of some old stuff!

After tourist-ing all day, we got a group of people and went back to the Indian museum. The food was, once again, delicious, and the owner hooked us up with some free drinks (for the whole group!). It was spectacular.

After that, Tim and I and two other students went to the Late Night show at the Berliner Philharmonie. It was just a few key musicians, and the director did all the singing. The orchestra also used some non-traditional instruments (like brown-paper bags, slide-whistles, and “whurring tubes”), which was really fun to watch. Pictures were not allowed...but...since were were already under-dressed, I took some anyway.

 After that, we went back to the hostel and slept in.
