One thing we
have discovered about Germans is that they LOVE the sunshine. If it
is sunny out, it is Germans out. This morning started out foggy, but
towards noon, it became sunny. So, we decided, when in Rome...I mean,
Konstanz...We packed a picnic lunch and went out on our bikes to explore the northern part of the city.
Originally, our plan was to try to get back to the
island of Richenau because it had beautiful bike trails, but we took
a different turn somewhere along the way because a street didn't have
a safe bike lane, and we ended up going towards the north east, through lots of forest and rural paths. It was beautiful! Eventually, we circled around to the Meersburg ferry stop, where we
ate our lunch.

From there, it
was a fairly simple ride home. The whole, 13-mile excursion had
somehow been 90% uphill, and we collapsed with exhaustion when we got
home.
